What is NeuroKinetic Therapy?
NeuroKinetic Therapy® (NKT) is a corrective movement system based on the premise that when an injury has occurred, certain muscles shut down or become inhibited, forcing other muscles to become overworked. NKT tests the brain to muscle function, to see if the muscles are firing properly. If they are not, a protocol of releasing one muscle and activating another muscle is given to re-pattern the neurological connection between brain and muscles.
Is NKT right for you?
Do you have chronic pain that lingers? Does it come and go over time? Then, yes! NKT is for you!
Pain in the body can be a result of a muscle being overused or underused. Because of an injury, surgery, a sprain, or repetitive movement pattern, your brain looks to recruit other muscles to create functional stability in your body. Over time, your body will no longer be able to sustain the habitual pattern, so your body develops pain in the area(s) of dysfunction. NKT is able to provided assistance to re-pattern the dysfunctional to eliminate chronic pain, increase range of motion, and create proper functional movement.
A brief history:
NKT was created by David Weinstock in 1985 with the help of his peers. David Weinstock's background includes pre-med at John Hopkins University, practicing and teaching manual therapy techniques since 1973, traveling Central and South America learning from native healers and a variety of other practitioners, as well as graduating from New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics.
