What is TPI Golf Fitness?
Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) does not believe in one way to swing a club, but rather an infinite number of swing styles. TPI believes there is one efficient way for every player to swing and it is based on what the player can physically do.
TPI Golf Fitness begins with a movement screen. The TPI screen tests your ability to perform a variety of basic movements and your body's ability to move in various directions and planes, all of which are required when performing a full golf swing. Based on the findings of the screen, Sarah will design a work out regimen for you to enhance your body's ability to properly execute these movements, enabling your full swing to be more efficient and pain-free.
Is TPI Golf Fitness right for you?
If you are a golfer looking to improve your swing or looking to decrease pain caused by your golf game, then TPI golf fitness is for you. During your first session, a TPI movement screen will be done. Based on the screen, home exercises will be given to improve strength, flexibility, and overall movement ability. In the sessions following the screen, golf specific exercises will be administered to continue enhancing your skills in the necessary areas. The TPI screen will be re-visited every few sessions to track progress.
A brief history:
Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) is the world's leading educational organization dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. Since 2003, TPI has gathered data on golf players of all shapes, sizes, ages, and fitness levels in order to discover how a properly functioning body allows a player to swing a golf club in the most efficient way possible. In addition, TPI has been able to analyze how physical limitations in a player's body can affect their swing and lead to injury. TPI professionals include fitness professionals, golf professionals, and medical professionals. The TPI program was developed by founders Dr. Greg Rose and Dave Phillips along with a 52 member advisory staff of industry leading experts.
