I started working privately with Sarah Mann twice a week at the end of 2018. I have a pretty bad case of chronic pain/fibromyalgia and was nervous about doing anything that might trigger a flair. I'd become accustomed to debilitating flairs monthly that put me out of commission for weeks at a time. Sarah was incredibly patient and worked with my limitations to start slowly building muscles without triggering my pain. I didn't notice it happen, but suddenly I wasn't having flairs nearly as often. Not just that, when I did have them they'd be gone in a couple days instead of weeks. Sarah helped me work through the flairs and strengthen the specific areas needed to prevent them from recurring. My life has completely changed since we began working together. I'm SO much more active! I go biking and hiking weekly! And my reliance on opiate pain medications has decreased exponentially. Sarah's unique ability to target specific areas of pain and find the root cause saved my life. Could not recommend her highly enough."

Sarah is amazing. Her knowledge of how the body works combined with her Pilates training is extraordinary. She transformed my life by pushing me to do more than I thought possible and kindly encouraged me to step up to the challenges she presented. I came to her with lower back issues , barely able to perform most normal activities but Sarah always found ways to give me a full workout. I give all credit to her for me being able now to take dance classes and practice martial arts. I recommend Sarah to anyone who wants to improve their physical well being."

Sarah is like a Sherlock Holmes for the body and is always gaining new information to help her clients. She listens with an exquisite ear to how her client's body is functioning and can tell through muscle testing what is under-working and over-working. Sarah was able to diagnose how my body had compensated for my original injuries and gave me exercises that addressed the patterns that had set in over time. Now, after working with Sarah for several months, I am able to do all the activities I want to do without pain. My body is more stable and stronger than it’s been in years as a result of working with her. I am back to being quite active, and when something occurs that does cause pain, I know Sarah will be able to diagnose the problem and to give me exercises to address the issue. I am grateful to her for returning me to a very active physical life with very little pain.
She is also a delight to be with, and has so much enthusiasm about the extraordinary complexities of the human body. I would highly recommend her work, especially for those who have tried other modalities and have not found ongoing relief from their pain."

Working with Sarah has opened up the world for me. For years, I would try things and get injured. It was frustrating to say the least, I was hyper-mobile and and all too familiar with the old school way of thinking that if you couldn’t do an exercise it was just mental, so push through.
I had chronic headaches, partly from poor posture that Needed strengthening, but when I worked out it would often get worse. I saw drs and chiro’s, several of which encouraged me to find a good pilates instructor and I couldn’t be anymore thankful that I found Sarah!
She modifies each exercise to fit exactly where I’m at and watches closely to make sure I’m using the proper form. Her in depth knowledge of the body gives me complete confidence in what she has me doing and for first time in my life, I feel strong! I can try things I never thought I would be able to do! (Hints why the world is opening up to me) She’s vibrant, caring, a devoted learner. Thank you Sarah!"

Sarah Mann is one great pilates instructor. As a general rule I train with her 2 days a week in private sessions and I’ve been doing that for at least the last 4 years.
I don’t think I can give Sarah high enough praise. First it is a joy to see her whenever I show up at the pilates studio. I look forward to each session. She has a wealth of knowledge about the body and pilates. And the fact that she is certified in NKT (NeuroKinetic Therapy) enhances her knowledge and her ability to assist you, should you have an injury or an ache. Her ability to help identify and help you work towards healing that injury or ache cannot be emphasized too much. And add to that, if you’re a golfer, and I am, the fact that Sarah is also TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) certified only adds to the breath and scope of her knowledge and capabilities.
So bottom line, if you want a pilates instructor you will love, and one who has the knowledge, experience and capabilities of Sarah Mann, then look no further."

I have been taking Sarah’s classes for years. She’s always watching her clients form and making corrections whenever necessary. I call her the body whisperer. She’s an incredible teacher as well as student. She’s always making sure to learn new ways to help her clients through injuries and, not to mention, she totally knows how to keep classes exciting and new. Hands down she’s the best teacher I’ve ever come across and I’ve been doing Pilates for 15 years!"

As a professional television editor, I spend 12-15 hours a day hunched over a computer workstation. I’ve been training with Sarah for 6 years now. When I first plopped myself down in front of her, I was 50 years old, overweight, out of shape, avoiding spandex, and suffering with excruciating neck and shoulder pain. I felt like something had to change or I was going to find myself on the inexorable downhill slide to infirmity, old age, and death. Quite frankly, Sarah saved me. She has gently and patiently taken me from someone who never really worked out, to someone who actively lives a fitness-based lifestyle, and enjoys it and no longer avoids spandex. Training with Sarah has cut my chiropractic visits down from 2 – 4 times per month, to 2 – 4 times per year. At 56, I’m stronger, more fit, and healthier than I’ve ever been in my life. Thanks to Sarah, I have amazing ABS!!! Her continued quest for excellence and expansive approach to furthering her own training is inspiring, as well as therapeutic for her clients. We get the benefit of whatever new thing Sarah’s learning, whether it’s NeuroKinetic Therapy, sports training (she works with golfers, dancers, and other athletes), or breath training. Sarah manages to integrate Pilates, cardio fitness, NKT, breath work and more flawlessly and seamlessly into each 55 minute session. I honestly cannot imagine my life without her."

Sarah has been my personal trainer for over five years and it is has been revelatory for me. I started with Pilates to try and learn a new way to work out, a little nervous about it because it was very different for me. I had been active in my past, but injuries and surgeries meant I needed to look for something new and I was very lucky in finding Sarah. She provided the perfect balance when teaching me a new way to think about excercise and my fitness. Little did I know how much of a change to my overall well being would occur over the past five years. In addition to simply becoming more fit, working with Sarah - in her capacity as an NKT practitioner - has unlocked trouble spots in my body that even I was not fully aware of. I've learned so much over the last five years and my mind and body are in a much better place, I am truly grateful for Sarah."

As an ex competitive gymnast, professional dancer, and current yoga instructor - I have been through the gamut of injuries and physical complications. I have tried every type of therapy: physical therapy, massage therapy, chiropractic care, acupuncture, etc. And while I appreciate what those have to offer, I came to NKT because something always bothered me about all of these other modalities: the pain always came back. When I saw a chiropractor, I would feel better for about 3 hours, and then it would feel as though nothing had changed. Even with yoga, I’ve gotten to the place as a practitioner where, if I’m feeling pain, I can do a yoga practice and feel better, without a doubt - but I will likely wake up the next day with that pain again.
I was drawn to Neuro Kinetic Therapy because it was all about getting to the root of the issue - not just the current symptom. As someone whose body has been in intense physical movement her entire life, this intrigued me because my patterns are strong. I came to NKT not to necessarily fix anything in particular, but to work on some of my physical patterns so I can move more effectively and safely. And I loved it.
My favorite part about NKT was watching the weird ways in which my body did not cooperate, and learning about how to wake up new muscles! Sarah was always amazing at explaining what was happening so I could understand, and answering all of my millions of questions. In addition, to this day (almost a year later) I notice how the NEW patterns are still activated, and I go back to the exercises as needed."

Every week, I look forward to my work out with Sarah. She is so creative and each workout is totally different. She really keeps my mind - as well as my body – totally engaged. Sarah knows how to challenge me. But she also gives modifications for each exercise so I can always find the one that’s appropriate to my own skill and fitness level.
Most importantly, Sarah has spunk and personality! Even when I’m being pushed physically, there’s still room to laugh and have fun with the workout. If I wasn’t having fun, I would not keep coming back!"
